Get Started with Logos Cloud Using These 5 Quick Tips

Buckle up and let us give you the key. Here are 5 quick tips to help get you started with Logos Cloud fast. You’ll be navigating your library and exploring any Bible passage with Logos Cloud in no time.

1. Customize your Logos Cloud homepage

It’s easy to change the content that appears when you first start your software. Locate the gear icon in the upper right-hand corner of Logos Cloud—click it, and check out your options.

Let’s say you want the Christian Worship Three Year Lectionary to appear in your sidebar, along with prayer lists and reading plans. Just check that specific box, click the gear icon again, and your Logos Cloud sidebar has now been updated.

By customizing your Logos Cloud layout, the most important information appears how, when, and where you want it.

2. Access your library

See that book icon in the upper left-hand corner of your software? That’s your library, and it houses hundreds of hand-selected resources that will provide you with Biblical insights and help you gain deeper Biblical knowledge.

To find a specific book, simply enter the title you’re looking for, and click the title link to open the resource.

If you want to find books by a specific author, simply type “author”, followed by a colon symbol (:) and the author’s name. If you’re looking for a book by John Calvin, your search should look something like this–“author:calvin”.

You can use the same formula to retrieve a specific type of resource, such as commentaries. Enter the word “type”, followed by a colon symbol and the type of resource you’re looking for, like commentary. It’ll look similar to this—“type:commentary”.

*Library hack: if there’s a resource you read often, you can create a shortcut to that resource on your homepage. Just locate the resource in your library, click it, then drag and drop it into the shortcut bar to the right of your command box.

3. Set up your reading panes

Reading panes allow you to reference multiple resources at the same time—and synchronize them too!

For instance, if you have your preferred Bible open, and then open up your Faithlife Study Bible, Logos Cloud will automatically open it to the same passage you have open in your Bible.

To synchronize them, open the resource panel in your Bible and choose “Linkset A.” Then do the exact same thing for your Faithlife Study Bible. Now you can read through the biblical text and have your Faithlife Study Bible scroll in tandem, giving you instant access to study notes on the Bible.

4. Get in-depth information on any Biblical word.

Sometimes you may not understand a certain word in the Bible. That’s OK—Logos Cloud can provide the definition of any word.

To find information that’s embedded into the passage you’re reading, go to the tools menu and click “Information.” Now, when you hover over a resource’s individual words, Logos reveals a definition, popular English translations, original language information, and more.

5. Access your documents anywhere

As you progress in your Bible study, you’ll want to take notes and make highlights for passages that are important to you. That’s where the documents menu comes into play.

Open the documents menu near the top of Logos Cloud to find all of your notes, highlights, prayer lists, and reading plans.

Best of all, whenever you create a new document, Logos automatically backs up your work. You’ll never lose your spot and your documents will sync everywhere you are. Start reading on your desktop computer, pause, and then pick up right where you left off on your phone or tablet! With Logos Cloud, you’ll always have the latest copy of your work.
